chakrarthe viniyujyaate

It says that this Mudra denotes a Wheel. In Sanskrit Chakra means a circle or a wheel.
Very often in Dance this hasta is used to represent Lord Vishnu’s Sudarshan chakra. He is dipicted holding it with his right forefinger. This chakra is a Divine weapon with sharp edges and is supposed to spin like a Disc.

shankhadishu prayojyo yamityahurbharatadayaha

It says that the Shankha mudra is used to denote a counch.

Shankha was also blown in the battlefield as a sign to begin the war. The sound of a Shankha is considered sacred and is also blown in some of the Indian rituals. Shankha has a divine significance in Indian mythology. Lord Vishnu is imagined of having four hands. He is described as holding a Shankha (counch) in his upper left hand.

Here is the third step of TattiMetti Adavu. Watch the video for a better understanding

The Bols are Tat Tai Ta Ha Dhit Tai Ta Ha.

1.Be in Ardhamandala, hands close to the chest in Tripataka hasta.

2.Tap your right leg. Right hand is stretched forward pointing the left corner. It is held in Tripataka Mudra facing up. The left hand is placed below the right elbow in Tripataka facing down. Say TaT.

3.Then tap the left leg. Bring back the right hand close to the chest with Tripataka facing down and left hand is stretched out with Tripataka facing up. Say Tai.

4.Now jump on the toes. Hand position is same as above. Give a slight pushing movement with the right elbow while you jump. It is as if striking with the Elbow. Say Ta.

5.Tap the right leg while the heels of the left foot is still raised. Hands being in the same position, only turn the left palm down (ie Tripataka facing down) and right palm facing up close to the chest. (ie Tripataka facing up). Say Ha.

Mirror the above steps for Dhit Tai Ta Ha.

6.Tap your left leg. Left hand is stretched forward pointing the right corner. It is held in Tripataka Mudra facing up. The right hand is placed below the right elbow in Tripataka facing down. Say Dhit.

7.Then tap the Right leg. Bring back the left hand close to the chest with Tripataka facing down and right hand is stretched out with Tripataka facing up. Say Tai.

8.Now jump on the toes. Hand position is same as above. Give a slight pushing movement with the right elbow while you jump. It is as if striking with the Elbow. Say Ta.

9.Tap the left leg while the heels of the right foot is still raised. Hands being in the same position, only turn the Right palm down (ie Tripataka facing down) and left palm facing up close to the chest. (ie Tripataka facing up). Say Ha.

Here one set of Tat Tai Ta Ha Dhit Tai Ta Ha involves both left and the right side.

The second step is very similar to the first one. Read the explanation and I am sure this will be easier for you to understand. The Bols are Tat Tai Ta Ha Dhit Tai Ta Ha.

1. Be in Ardhamandala with hands held in Tripataka gesture close to the chest.

2. Now Tap the right leg. Right hand in the above position ie Tripataka close to the chest. Say Tat.

3. Then tap the left leg. Hands in the same above position. Say Tai.

4. Again tap the right leg. Right hand is stretched out with Tripataka facing up and the left hand is close to the chest in Tripataka facing down. Ta.

5.Then tap the left leg. Bring back the right hand close to the chest with Tripataka facing down and left hand is stretched out with Tripataka facing up. Say Ha.

6. Now jump on the toes. Hand position is same as above. Give a slight pushing movement with the right elbow while you jump. It is as if striking with the Elbow. Say Dhit.
